Pelham for Horse Offset Mouthpiece Give your horse precise control and unmatched comfort with the adjustable Pelham from Jump'In, designed for performance.
Composition: Stainless steel snail bit with a 30 mm flat, angled mouthpiece.
This snail bit is designed to provide precise control, a progressive action, and optimal stability in the mouth while ensuring great comfort for the horse. It is aimed at horses that need gentle but structured holding without the constraints related to poll pressure.
The flat, straight mouthpiece of 30 mm, hinged at 90°, naturally adapts to the jaw's angle. This unusual design allows for a large contact area, providing an even distribution of pressure, and gives many horses ease, relaxation, and freedom of movement. The integrated tongue relief eases the palatine area and encourages better jaw mobility.
The snail bit has some similarities with the Pelham, but with one major difference:
The horse feels no pressure on the poll because there is no action on the cheekpieces.
It is the only leverage bit that does not apply pressure on the poll.
It works solely through direct effect, in conjunction with the curb chain, which limits confinement compared to the Pelham, as it does not interfere with the head/neck angle.
The snail-shaped cheekpieces provide excellent stability and a progressive transmission of aids while maintaining clear contact even with light hands. This bit is ideal for horses that need to be rebalanced or are better in a stable frame without vertical constraints.
Usage advice:
This bit can be used:
- with direct reins,
- with rein connectors,
- or with four reins to modulate the actions.
The angled flat mouthpiece allows for a quick, direct, and clear action, ideal for responsive horses or those seeking clarity in contact.
Care advice: Rinse the bit well after each use to limit residue build-up and prevent discomfort for your horse.
