This Pelham bit with large branches offers an excellent balance between control, comfort, and finesse in communication.

Its flat straight cheek, particularly unusual, is articulated around a 90° axis, allowing it to naturally adapt to the horse's jaw angle. This original design provides a wide contact surface, distributing pressure evenly and giving some horses great ease and better relaxation during work.

The cheek is fully covered in soft leather, making it comfortable to hold in the mouth, promoting salivation, relaxation, and better acceptance of the bit. The integrated tongue passage reduces pressure on the palate, encouraging a more relaxed and attentive horse.

The Pelham is an excellent compromise between the snaffle bridle and the full bridle. It allows for modulation of the leverage effect depending on the length of the branches, the adjustment of the curb chain, and the rein setup. It induces a flexion of the neck while applying controlled pressure to the jaw, making it particularly useful for riders seeking more frame without losing finesse.

The large branches (7 cm) offer a more pronounced leverage effect, suitable for more powerful horses, advanced work, or situations requiring more precision and control.

This bit can be used:

- with single reins (direct action, with or without links),
- or with double reins (combined direct + leverage action).

The action of the curb chain can be softened by opting for a leather, nylon, or covered curb chain, depending on the sensitivity of the horse.
